Lean Data Governance : the program

PART 1

The context

Clarifications on what is often heard and what really defines data governance.

  • Consequences of not having data governance
The understanding of what data governance can bring to your organization by illustrating the consequences of its absence.

  • Today’s challenges
Why today’s data governance cannot be yesterday’s.

  • Defensive/offensive governance
Our vision on the implementation of a “smart” and “simple” governance.

The strengths, weaknesses and an eventual complementarity of each approach.

The objectives

This second part will focus on the challenges, constraints and the main principles of each one’s final objectives.

  • Know your data
What seems to be simple may not actually be so for many reasons. We detail in this part the objective, the main barriers and how to lift them.

  • Favor value creation
Adding value to your data is part of the most obvious objectives, however a proper set up of a number of elements are required.

  • Guarantee compliance with regulations
An aspect that cannot be honored without a structured approach.

Workshop: Self-evaluation

In light of all of the elements that were presented, the participants will carry out an exercise while completing a matrix covering all of the main actions used in companies in a data governance framework.

PART 2

Implementation

This part will be a workshop/exchange between collaborators that will present a possible framework and strategy to adopt/adapt to. This discussion will allow everyone to identify the right paths to take in order to overcome any obstacles.
